Day in Santa Barbara

It was still pitch black when Alex and I woke up yesterday morning, the alarm clock read 4:30am. But I was determined to make it up to Santa Barbara to catch the sunrise… and we just barely made it!

We went on the Inspiration Point hike just up the hill from the mission. I was soo cold that morning, but it was nice to get out and get some fresh air, something we don’t often get a chance to do in LA. It was so beautiful up there, what I wouldn’t give to have a view like this from our home.. maybe one day

We also spent a little time at the Santa Barbara Mission… I love the architecture. (We paid $5 to go on the self-guided tour)

Then we headed down State Street toward the ocean and found ourselves right in the middle of the annual Santa Barbara Motorcycle Toy Run. For five blocks, we drove opposite these santa-hat-clad bikers with giant stuffed toys on their handlebars. It was hard trying to take a picture and driving at the same time!

We were fortunate to be able to have lunch with some fellow photographers in the area. We met up at at Brophy Brothers to sample the local cuisine with Lauren Wright (who was visiting from Atlanta), her friend Kyleen and Katie and Chris Humphreys . The chowder and the company were great. It was such a pleasure meeting you guys! Then we took a stroll before packing it up and heading back to LA for a well-deserved nap

I’m a Brown! Went to the Social Security office yesterday and the DMV today to change my name. Kinda sad and exciting at the same time.. should of stuck with Brownchez!

I have so many things to be thankful for! It’s been such an incredible year for me and I’m just thankful to have my health, a loving and supporting family (mine and Alex’s) and last, but not least, my husband I know that I don’t say it often enough, but thank you so much for everything!

This year Alex and I celebrated Thanksgiving, not only once, but 3 times!

Thursday with John, Sang and his Mom. Friday with my family (Alex made the turkey!) and Saturday with Alex’s family. And yes, we had a full Thanksgiving meal all 3 days, turkey and all! No.more.turkey.please!!

Jane, Lily and I went to Kit Carson park to take some pictures this past weekend. Lily has sooo much energy! She kept running back and forth, jumping around… it was hard to keep up! Here’s a pic I took of them with my new camera! (Jane – do you notice something missing from underneath your left eye? haha!)

And Happy Barfday to Jane And Mom and Josh on the 22nd!

We spent Halloween at our home again this year… passing out candy, hanging out, Wii-ing! I didn’t take pics from this day! But we had a fun time! Alex and I dressed up course (scroll down a bit to see our super cool costumes ).

This past weekend we went out to celebrate Jane, Mom and Josh’s B-day at Rockin’ Baja Lobster in Oceanside. Everyone came dressed… including my parents! I think I’m Dad’s costume of the funniest of all!

Honeymoon Part I

Aruba: Arrival

After 10+ grueling hours of travel time… Alex and I finally made it to Aruba! Woot woot!

We stayed at the lovely Marriott Surf Club on the northern part of the Island (thanks Matt and Carol!) We had an amazing corner, ocean view and could literally see the whole north coast from our balcony. It was a 1 bedroom suite along with a full kitchen, spa tub and washer and dryer! Ahhh.. what we would give to be able to live here
